Flag Retirement Program

Sunday, July 30, 2017
As part of the national campaign to support flag etiquette, your county government introduced three locations to drop off your worn US Flag. Our County Public Library locations both in Elizabethtown and Radcliff have flag retirement boxes as well as in our County Government Center.

Through a partnership with our local VFW Post 10281, we are able to sponsor this program. Proper retirement of the American flag is a sign of respect. It honors our history and the people who fight to protect our freedom while showing reverence to our nation. The United States Flag Code outlines proper flag etiquette for everything from folding and flying of our flag to respectful retirement of our flag.
