The Hardin County History Museum is looking for volunteers

The Hardin County History Museum is looking for volunteers to help at the museum.  Volunteers would be responsible to greet and help guests visiting the museum and making change for any purchases, during museum hours of 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Tuesday through Saturday.  We also need volunteers as guides, for special events and to help with other facets of the museum.   If you are flexible, energetic, and enthusiastic about Hardin County and Kentucky history, then we just might be the place for you.  To pick up an application drop by the museum at 201 W. Dixie Ave. Elizabethtown during regular business hours or go online to  http://www.hardinkyhistory.org, scroll down to click on “volunteers” and down load the application.  You can drop off completed applications during regular business hours.  The Hardin Co. Make an interesting but easy table runner with fall colors that will impress your dinner guest.  Patty will help you design and construct a table runner or quilt using the “tessellating” technique in quilting.

Supply list will be given at registration.

Class size is limited.

 

Registration deadline is August 7.

Movies Under the Stars: Finding Dory

The Cecilian Bank, Grace Heartland Church and City of Elizabethtown have partnered together to offer a fun and free way to celebrate summer with movie showings at Freeman Lake Park. The Movies Under the Stars series will feature 3 new movies at the Park this summer. 

Movie titles will be released in the next few weeks but will all be kid and family friendly! 

Movies will begin at dusk with sponsored activities and concessions starting at 8:00 PM. The movies will take place Friday June 9, July 21, and August 11 at the Bandstand area at Freeman Lake Park. Parking will take place in the Ernie Williams field. There will be food items for sale. Patrons are invited to bring chairs and/or blankets to enjoy this family fun night. DELBERT MCCLINTON HEADLINING AUGUST CONCERT AS PART OF THE FORT KNOX FEDERAL CREDIT UNION CONCERT SERIES.
 
The Historic State Theater and the City of Elizabethtown has partnered to bring Delbert McClinton to the Historic State Theater August 19th sponsored by Fort Knox Federal Credit Union.
 
“We are so excited to see the continued partnership with the Theater and helping them bring high level artists in our town,” said Mayor Edna Berger. “We can’t wait to see another sold out show across the street.”
 
"As the primary concert series sponsor, Fort Knox Federal is delighted to help bring such outstanding national performers to our community," said President and CEO of Fort Knox Federal Credit Union Ray Springsteen.
 
Tickets are scheduled to go on sale online Friday, March 31st at 10:00 a.m. VIP tickets will include a meet and greet and first two rows in seating for $60 each. Down Home Nights in White Mills

The White Mills Civic League will once again sponsoring "Down Home Nights in White Mills."
 
Join us the 3rd Saturday night of July and August at the White Mills Ballpark pavilion.  
 
On August 19th The Brian Young Band will perform.
 
Events are free but donations to help the band will be accepted.
 
Light refreshments will be available to raise money for the "Blossom Girls" from White Mills Christian Church.
