Founders Day Event

WesBanco partners with The City of Elizabethtown once again to present Founders’ Day 2019 July 4th at Freeman Lake Park. This year’s line-up will include the Owensboro Orchestra: 2nd Street Band, free kid’s attractions, and Kid’s Fishing Derby. "WesBanco is honored to continue to partner with the City of Elizabethtown to sponsor the annual Founders' Day Event,” said Marilyn Ford, WesBanco City President, Heartland Region. “The City does an amazing job of orchestrating a great celebration of the common birthdays of both our City and Nation. This event is an opportunity for neighbors, friends, and families to come together and enjoy wonderful activities, entertainment, fireworks and fun in a familyfriendly setting. Being engaged and working with our communities and the people who comprise those communities to make our ‘little corner of the world’ even better is a privilege that I and our entire WesBanco family truly enjoy and appreciate."
Schedule: 9:00 am-11:00 am: Kid’s Fishing Derby, Rotary Pavilion; $5/per child ages 15 and under; more details to come;
5:00 pm: Parking, vendors, free kid’s activities open, decorate your bike and ride around the park;
6:00 pm: 8 th annual Shoney’s Watermelon Eating Contest (free to enter); 7:30 pm: WesBanco presents Owensboro Orchestra: 2nd Street Band, performing on bandstand;
Dark: WesBanco Fireworks show.
The event is free and open to the public. Patrons are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, and their families out for a fun evening at the Park. Food vendors will be selling hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, barbeque, ice cream, funnel cakes, and more. There will also be commercial vendors on-site. Free chalk will be available on the pavement that is closed to car traffic for children to draw during the event as well as well as a tent to decorate your bike and ride around the park.
Founders’ Day 2019 is sponsored by City of Elizabethtown, WesBanco, and Shoney’s.

Rineyville Community Youth Soccer League registrations are open for the fall soccer season!    Online sign up at from July 12 - August 11.


If you are new to youth soccer, you may not know that there are many great reasons to get your child involved.  Participation in youth sports helps to develop character and values in children that will positively impact them throughout their lives.  Sports boost self-esteem, helps develop teamwork and leadership, provides much-needed exercise and stress relief, creates community bonds, and most importantly - soccer is FUN!  


The Fall soccer season runs from 7 Sep - 27 Oct, with games primarily on weekends, and most teams will practice 1-2 times a week to build skills and teamwork.  Come out and join the RCYSL family!
